Thank You!

The Conor Foley Neuroblastoma Cancer Research Foundation (CFNCRF) would wholeheartedly like to show our appreciation and express an enormous thank you to our Ambassador Michelle Regazzoli-Stone (MRS Makeup), for her continued support of the Conor Foley Neuroblastoma Cancer Research Foundation - CFNCRF Make-A-Difference campaign. Michelle presented a cheque for €17,000.00, which was 50% of the net proceeds from her Make-A-Difference Master Class, hosted by Michelle at The Shelbourne Dublin, Renaissance Hotel, on the 26th March 2017, with the other half going to the Childhood Cancer Foundation. This brings our fundraising total today up to a fantastic €80,000, which leave us with a balance of €20,000 to achieve our goal of €100,000.00 that will go towards funding research into Neuroblastoma in
Ireland.

The CFNCRF is enormously appreciative of Michelle's hard work and time spent organising this huge event. We would also like to extend our thanks to those who supported the event in any way, those who helped on the day to make it a tremendous success and of course the generosity of the individual attendees who bought tickets for the event and supported the raffle on the day.

OUR MISSION

We are a "not-for-profit" organisation set up in memory of Conor Foley.

Conor died in 2015 when he was 17 from a rare form of childhood cancer, Neuroblastoma.

Conor was special in every sense of the word. He was diagnosed at age 4, but was cancer-free for 10 years until his relapse in 2012, which is very rare. The 5-year survival rate for Neuroblastoma is between 30-40%. Nearly 70% of children diagnosed with Neuroblastoma are already at the advanced stage 4, and the statistics have shown no real improvement in the last 15 years.

Shockingly, there is NO sustained program for research into NBL in Ireland.

Yet.

We are continuing Conor's legacy in removing and breaking down medical science barriers, and we have set up this foundation with the ultimate objective of finding a cure for NBL.

Our aim is to secure continuous annual funding for NBL research in Ireland. With this funding we want to help develop an NBL research consortium to link with international research groups and collaborations.

Ireland already has significant expertise in the area of biomarkers (being able to spot genetic identifiers that could signal likelihood to develop the disease), in the form of Professor Stallings from the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, and Professor Gardiner from Trinity College Dublin. Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin has already given support to our idea, and is ideally placed to bring any new treatments forward to clinical trials.

We are confident that with the correct supports we can achieve better outcomes for children with Neuroblastoma.
